What happens at Orientation?

Orientation is the beginning of your journey at UMass Boston. Orientation is one of the most important experiences you will have as a new student. It is where you will meet the people who will become your new friends and the people who will help you succeed academically.

Orientation is mandatory for all new students!

Fall 2019 

Check-in/Orientation:  August 27--29, 2019
Time:  Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.  Orientation begins at 9:00 a.m. each day.

Did you know?

  • Many current UMass Boston Navitas GSSP students and alumni volunteer to help welcome new students at each orientation! They can help assist students with their transition to Boston.
  • The entire UMass Boston Navitas GSSP staff will be at orientation to assist you. Whether you have questions about admission, payment and fees, course selection, housing, or immigration, someone will be there to help you get answers.
  • Orientation is full of fun activities. You get the opportunity to make new friends before beginning your academic studies. You don’t want to miss it!
